LG Optimus Black : The World's Thinnest and Brightest Smartphone
Announced at CES2011

It was in a very packed conference room at the Venetian Hotel in Las
Vegas that LG's CTO, Dr. Skott Ahn, announced two new phones from the
new LG Optimus Premium range. The first was the dual core LG Optimus
2X, which we shared about a couple of weeks back and the other was the
new super-slim LG Optimus Black. With a depth of 9.2mm it's the
thinnest smartphone in the world (as a comparison the iPhone 4 is
9.3mm).

The other standout feature for the LG Optimus Black is its screen – it
uses NOVA technology which has been designed to be the brightest (700
nits as compared to 450 nits on other phones) and is very energy
efficient. LG state that other display technologies like AMOLED
consume almost double the power of these new NOVA screens which should
translate into superior battery life on the LG Optimus Black. Not only
is the screen brighter and more energy efficient but it's big too!
With the 4″ display, browsing the web, reading emails, Twittering and
Facebooking will be better than ever before!
